Features of the RV Boosted Cellular–WiFi system
This system features two main components that work together to provide stronger signal in your RV, fifth wheel, trailer, or van:
Peplink MAX BR1 Mini cellular–WiFi router
- The Peplink MAX BR1 Mini converts your 4G/LTE cellular data plan to a 2.4 GHz/5 GHz WiFi network that can be used by laptops, tablets, smart TVs, and other WiFi-enabled devices. Supports WiFi 5. (SIM card required.)
- The Poynting PUCK-5 2×2 MIMO antenna attaches to the five connectors on the Peplink router. This single antenna both receives cellular signal from the weBoost Drive Reach booster and transmits WiFi signal from the Peplink router, creating a large WiFi “hotspot” in and around your RV, trailer, or van. (Learn more.)
weBoost Drive Reach cell signal booster
- The weBoost Drive Reach cell signal booster provides a stronger cellular connection for the Peplink router. Use the Drive Reach booster when in areas where cellular signal is weak.
- The booster comes with your choice of outside antenna that receives signal from the cell tower: A low-profile Poynting PUCK-1 antenna, a variable height Top Signal OTR mast antenna, or a 26-inch or 38-inch RFI whip antenna. (Learn more.)
- A Poynting PUCK-1 antenna sends amplified signal to the Peplink router’s PUCK-5 antenna. (Learn more.)
More about the Peplink MAX BR1 Mini
- The Peplink’s dual SIM card slot supports either one or two data plans. Onboard software lets you to prioritize which data plan the router will prefer.
- The router’s two Ethernet LAN ports and one Ethernet WAN port support gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mbps). LAN port 1 has power over Ethernet (PoE) capability.
- The router includes a GPIO power port and 120V AC/DC adapter.
- Its software stores up to seven days of GPS location data.
- It operates on a wider range of cellular bands than consumer cell signal boosters (including the weBoost Drive Reach). (See below.)
- The Peplink MAX BR1 Mini is certified by Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile and works with all major U.S. cellular carriers and networks.
- Includes Peplink’s one-year warranty plus a one-year subscription to Peplink PrimeCare service.
- Extend your warranty, add features like WiFi WAN and InControl² cloud-based management, and get 24/7 support with a PrimeCare+ add-on package. (Learn more.)
More about the weBoost Drive Reach
- The Drive Reach is weBoost’s most powerful 4G/5G cell phone signal booster for vehicles. With its increased uplink power, the Drive Reach can send signal to towers that are twice as distant as older vehicle boosters.
- The Drive Reach amplifies 5G and 4G/LTE service for voice, text, and data. (Learn more about 5G compatibility.)
- It works with all major U.S. and North American carriers and networks.
- It uses threaded SMA connectors for simple installation and compatibility with most antennas.
The Peplink MAX BR1 Mini router works best in areas where outside cellular signal is fair or moderate. For locations with weak cellular signal, use the weBoost Drive Reach to amplify that signal for the Peplink router.

SIM card required (important—please read)
To use the Peplink MAX BR1 Mini as a cellular–WiFi router, you must have an activated nano-SIM card with a data plan. You can obtain a SIM card from your cellular carrier (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.) and add it as an additional line on your existing plan. You can also purchase SIM cards from many retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy; the data plan will either have a recurring monthly payment or will be a prepaid “pay-as-you-go” plan.
Who is the RV Boosted Cellular–WiFi system for?
- Class A motorhomes (30–45 feet long).
- Class C motorhomes (20–30 feet long).
- Class B vans, including the Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit, Dodge Promaster, and others.
- Fifth wheels, travel trailers, toy haulers, and other towables.

The booster’s broadcast antenna: Poynting PUCK-1
The Poynting PUCK-1 SISO (single-input, single-output) antenna broadcasts cellular signal from the weBoost Drive Reach cell signal booster. Place this antenna as close as possible to the Peplink router’s PUCK-5 antenna.
- Low-profile (3.9″ ᴅ × 1.4″ ʜ) omnidirectional antenna.
- Broadcasts 4G/LTE/5G cellular signal with up to 6 dBi of gain.
- One thin 6.6′ (2 m) RTK031 coax cable with an SMA-male connector attaches to the outside antenna port on the weBoost Drive Reach booster.
- Same six mounting options as the PUCK-5. (See above.) All mounting hardware included.
- Same ratings for impact, water and dust, and wind conditions as the PUCK-5. (See above.)
- Ground plane-independent.
- 50-ohm impedance.
- 2-year warranty.
The booster’s donor antenna: Your choice of four options
A donor antenna, mounted outside on or near the roof of your RV, trailer, or van, receives cellular signal and sends it to the weBoost Drive Reach booster. You can choose from four different antennas, depending on your vehicle’s profile and configuration and how much antenna gain you want.
- Option #1: The Poynting PUCK-1 is the low-profile option for high-clearance vehicles. It has up to 6.0 dBi gain, 6.6′ (2 m) of attached RTK031 coax cable, and six mounting options. (See above.) All mounting hardware is included.
- Option #2: The Top Signal 5G OTR antenna has 3.2 to 4.1 dBi of gain and and 11.3′ (3.4 m) attached RG58 coax cable. It includes a mast extension and spring mount for your choice of four antenna heights (11.5″, 15.2″, 22.5″, or 26.3″) and a 3-way L-bracket mount that attaches to ladders and rail racks.
- Option #3: The RFI 26″ whip antenna has 4.5 to 5.5 dBi gain and 16.4′ (5 m) attached RG58 coax cable. It includes a 3-way rail mount that attaches to ladders and rail racks.
- Option #4: The RFI 38″ quick-release whip antenna has 4.5 to 6.5 dBi of gain and 16.4′ (5 m) attached RG58 coax cable. It features a threaded quick-release spring mount for fast takedown and setup for storage or low-clearance areas. It includes a 3-way rail mount that attaches to ladders and rail racks.
Installation
You can install the Peplink MAX BR1 Mini router and weBoost Drive Reach WiFi and cell booster for RVs cell signal booster yourself, or you can have it installed by an RV dealer or service center.

Optional weBoost Drive Reach hardwire power supply
The weBoost Drive Reach cellular booster has an optional 12V DC hardwire power supply with an inline 3-amp fuse. The hardwire kit connects directly to your vehicle’s DC power system, freeing up a 120V AC or 12V DC power socket and allowing for a less-cluttered installation. A hardwire power supply typically requires professional installation.
