Product Description

Features of the HiBoost CommLink 30K Long-Range system

  • Coverage up to 33,000 square feet for offices, retail stores, warehouses, and multi-level facilities—at least 10% more usable coverage than the standard CommLink 30K kit.
  • Two inside antenna ports, each delivering up to 14 dBm of amplified downlink signal to its own antenna. Each port covers up to 16,500 square feet, half the system total, giving you two independently fed coverage zones.
  • This Long-Range kit, available only from Powerful Signal, features your choice of outside high-gain antenna that delivers stronger signal to the amplifier, increasing your indoor coverage by 10 percent or more over the standard CommLink 30K kit:
  • The 44″-long Top Signal high-gain LPDA directional antenna sends and receives signal from a tower or towers in a specific direction with 11.2 to 13.1 dBi of gain, 66 to 157 percent more than our standard LPDA.
  • The 30″-tall Top Signal high-gain omnidirectional antenna sends and receives signal in all directions with 4.0 to 6.0 dBi of gain, 58 percent more than our standard cylinder omni antenna.
  • Also includes your choice of two or four inside dual-mount dome antennas or flex-mount panel antennas. (Get help picking the right antennas.)
  • Compact, wall-mountable metal enclosure with integrated thermal protection and oscillation detection.
  • LCD touchscreen for local control and gain adjustment, with both automatic (AGC) and manual (MGC) gain controls.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot your booster with HiBoost’s Signal Supervisor smartphone app and web portal.
  • Built for 24/7 continuous duty, supporting simultaneous multi-user voice and data operation.
  • Includes commercial-grade antennas and components.
  • Carrier agnostic: Works with all major US and Canadian carriers.
  • Improves 5G and 4G/LTE service for voice, text, and data. (Learn more about 5G compatibility.)

The HiBoost CommLink 30K is a professional-grade cell signal amplifier engineered for office, commercial, and light-industrial environments that need improved cell signal reception. Delivering up to 72 dB of system gain, the CommLink 30K improves voice and data to reduce dropped calls and missed emails and texts, keeping your business, employees, residents, and/or guests connected with a stronger cell signal.

The HiBoost CommLink 30K Long-Range commercial cell signal booster, part of Powerful Signal’s exclusive Top Signal Series, pairs the CommLink 30K amplifier with our top-of-the-line high-gain outdoor antennas—ideal for properties in fringe coverage areas or sites where the nearest cell tower is far away. The extra antenna gain captures more outside signal, expanding your usable indoor coverage and delivering stronger, more reliable cell service.

This system includes two inside dome or panel antennas, one for each of the amplifier’s inside ports, that send amplified signal to the phones in your building. You may customize your CommLink 30K Long-Range system by adding a second antenna to each of its two inside ports, for a total of four.

How the HiBoost CommLink 30K works

The HiBoost CommLink 30K receives the outside cell signal through a single donor antenna, amplifies it, and rebroadcasts it inside your building through ceiling-mounted dome antennas or wall-mounted panel antennas. The amplifier has two inside antenna ports, and each one drives its own antenna at up to 14 dBm, covering half the system’s total area. Adding a 2-way splitter to each port takes the system to four inside antennas, dividing the same amplified signal (and coverage area) across more zones in your building. This allows you to stay connected in areas where cell service is poor or where your building materials interfere with signals from the local cell tower.

Works with all major cellular carriers

The HiBoost CommLink 30K works with all major wireless carriers, including Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, Boost Mobile, UScellular, GCI Alaska, and most others.

It operates on common cellular frequencies.

  • 700 MHz (SMH) bands 12, 13, 17.
  • 850 MHz (Cellular 850) band 5.
  • 1700/2100 MHz (AWS) band 4.
  • 1900 MHz (PCS) bands 2, 25.

Which antennas should I choose?

This system gives you the choice of an outdoor directional or omnidirectional antenna and either two or four indoor dome or panel antennas. Here are some general guidelines for selecting the right antennas.

Outside (donor) antenna:

  • The Top Signal high-gain omnidirectional antenna picks up signal from cell towers in all directions with 4 to 6 dBi of gain. It’s the best option if you want to amplify all major carriers or have obstructions that block the line of sight to your preferred tower.
  • The Top Signal high-gain LPDA directional antenna works best if you want to amplify a specific carrier and have a direct (or nearly direct) line of sight to a specific, distant cell tower. With 11.2 to 13.1 dBi of gain, it pulls in significantly more signal than a standard LPDA. This antenna will work if a distant feature (like a hill or mountain) blocks your view of the tower, but you need a clear path for at least a few hundred yards from the antenna. The high-gain LPDA is also an excellent choice if there’s a powerful cell tower nearby but you need to bypass that tower in favor of a more distant one operated by your preferred carrier.

Inside (broadcast) antenna:

  • The ceiling-mounted Top Signal EDGE dome antenna works best in most circumstances. It broadcasts downward and all around in a shape similar to a donut or an inner tube. It usually gives more broad, even coverage than a wall-mounted panel antenna and is less noticeable than a panel antenna. Installing a dome antenna does, however, require that you have access above the ceiling to pull cable and mount the antenna.
  • The wall-mounted Top Signal EDGE panel antenna broadcasts forward in a sideways teardrop shape. It’s a better option if you don’t have access above your ceiling or if you want to mount the antenna on the outside perimeter of the area you want to cover. It’s also a good option for long, narrow indoor areas.
  • Spread the two ports apart. Each inside port feeds its own antenna and covers half the system’s total area, so put those antennas in different parts of the building rather than near one another. Two antennas aimed at the same space overlap their coverage and leave the rest of your floor plan unserved.

If you’re still not certain which antennas will work best for you, please call us at 435-634-6800. Our technical support representatives will be happy to discuss your specific requirements and give you a recommendation based on years of professional experience.

How much area will the HiBoost CommLink 30K Long-Range cover?

With strong outside cell signal (−95 dBm RSRP or greater), the HiBoost CommLink 30K Long-Range can cover up to 33,000 square feet of indoor building space with 700 MHz signal, split evenly between its two inside antenna ports at up to 16,500 square feet each—at least 10 percent more than the standard CommLink 30K kit. The high-gain donor antennas are especially valuable when outside signal is weak, where the extra antenna gain translates directly into more usable indoor coverage. The size of the coverage area depends on many factors, including:

  • Outside cell signal strength received by the donor antenna.
  • The type of antennas you choose (dome or panel) and where you position them.
  • Inside building materials. (Cellular frequencies pass through wood framing and drywall more easily than through steel and concrete.)
  • Cellular frequencies used by the carrier and the device. (Lower-frequency LTE and 800 MHz signals travel farther than higher-frequency AWS and PCS signals.)

Substandard or inadequate conditions in any of these factors will reduce your coverage area.

Powerful Signal has years of experience designing and installing cellular amplification systems. Please call us at 435-634-6800 or contact us online, and we’ll be happy to calculate the coverage area this system will provide in your building and answer any other questions about this amplifier.
