Product Description

This cell signal booster kit has been discontinued. For an alternative, see the SureCall Fusion Professional with High-Gain Antenna.

Features of the Top Signal Rural Home cell signal booster

  • Designed for homes 8 to 10 miles or more from a cell tower and with a reasonable line of sight to the tower.
  • Upgraded commercial-grade coax cable for over 40 percent more indoor coverage than standard RG6 coax cable.
  • Your choice of high-gain outdoor antenna: (Need help choosing the right antenna? )
  • 44″ directional antenna with 11.2 to 13.1 dBi of gain, the strongest signal increase of any LPDA (wideband Yagi) antenna we carry.
  • 30″ omnidirectional antenna with 4.0 to 6.0 dBi of gain, 58 percent more than our standard cylinder omni antenna.
  • The EDGE panel antenna has 5 to 8 dBi of gain and multiple mounting options for easy and convenient setup. (Learn more about setup options for this antenna.)
  • The booster has a sturdy aluminum case with an integrated heat sink and LED status lights.
  • Boosts 5G, 4G LTE, and 3G service for voice, text, and data. (Learn more about 5G compatibility.)
  • Boosts cell signal for multiple users in your home.
  • Works with the networks of all major U.S. cellular carriers.

The Top Signal Rural Home cell signal booster is a single-indoor-antenna system designed for medium-sized homes that need improved cell signal reception throughout the house. It combines the Top Signal Home 68 dBgain booster with low-loss 400-type coax cable and a high-gain wideband donor antenna. The high-gain LPDA (directional) antenna has an average of 2½ times the gain (+4 dB) of a standard LPDA antenna, while the high-gain omnidirectional antenna has 60 percent more gain (+2 dB) than a typical omni antenna.

The Top Signal Rural Home cell signal booster gives you strong signal for faster cellular data and fewer dropped calls, undelivered texts, and missed email messages. Keep your data moving faster in remote areas with weak cell service.

Who is the Top Signal Rural Home cell signal booster for?

  • Buildings in remote locations with weak cell service (rural areas, farms, cabins, new housing developments, etc.).
  • Homes 8 to 10 miles or more from a cell tower.
  • Structures with building materials that block outside cell signal (metal, plaster, concrete, UV-coated windows, etc.).
  • Homes with basements, theater rooms, metal out-buildings, and other places where cell reception is poor.

Which antenna should I choose?

This system gives you the choice of a high-gain outdoor directional or omnidirectional antenna. Here are some general guidelines for selecting the right antenna.

  • The directional LPDA antenna works best if you have a direct (or nearly direct) line of sight to a specific, distant cell tower. This antenna will work if there is a distant feature blocking your view of the tower (like a hill or mountain), but you need to have a clear path for at least a few hundred yards from the antenna.
  • The cylindrical omnidirectional antenna will pick up signal from towers in all directions. It has lower gain and SINR than the LPDA, but it’s the best option if you have tall trees or other features on your property that are blocking a line of sight to your preferred tower.

If you’re still not certain which antenna will work best for you, please call us at 435-634-6800. Our technical support representatives will be happy to discuss your specific requirements and give you a recommendation based on years of professional experience.

Do-it-yourself installation

You can install the Top Signal Rural Home cell signal booster yourself in a couple of hours. (See Documentation, below, to download the user manual and quick installation guide.)

Alternatively, you can have a professional install your booster system at additional cost. We recommend that you contact a local cable/satellite TV installer; the work required to install a cell signal booster is similar to installing a satellite dish TV service.

How the Top Signal Rural Home cell signal booster works

The booster receives available outside cell signal, amplifies it, and rebroadcasts it inside your home or home office. This allows you to stay connected in areas where cell service is poor or where your building’s construction materials interfere with signals from local cell towers.

Works with all major cellular carriers

The Top Signal Rural Home booster works with all major wireless carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, DISH Wireless, UScellular, GCI Alaska, and most others.

It operates on common cellular frequencies.

  • 700 MHz (SMH) bands 12, 13, 17.
  • 850 MHz (Cellular 850) band 5.
  • 1700/2100 MHz (AWS) band 4.
  • 1900 MHz (PCS) bands 2, 25.

Mounting options for the Top Signal EDGE flex-mount panel antenna

The Top Signal EDGE panel antenna has four installation configurations:

  1. Mount it vertically (forward-facing) on a drillable wall with a bracket and screws (included).
  2. Stand it up vertically (forward-facing) on any flat surface, such as a bookcase, shelf, table, or desk.
  3. Mount it horizontally (downward-facing) on a drillable ceiling with a threaded post and nut (included).
  4. Because the antenna is so light (only 14 oz./0.4 kg), you may also mount it horizontally or vertically using Command™ Strips or similar adhesives (not included).

The back of the panel includes a channel for the pigtail cable so it will mount flush against walls and ceilings.

Command™ brand is a trademark of 3M.

How much area will the Top Signal Rural Home cell signal booster cover?

The coverage area this system can provide depends on many factors, including:

  • Outside signal strength received by the donor antenna.
  • Inside building materials. (Cellular frequencies pass through wood framing and drywall more easily than through steel, stone, or concrete.)
  • The cellular frequencies used by the carrier. (Lower-frequency SMH and CLR signals travel farther than higher-frequency AWS and PCS signals.)

In general, the stronger the outside cell signal, the greater the interior broadcast distance. With strong outside cell signal (−95 dBm RSRP), this system can typically cover 12,000 square feet of indoor space with 700 MHz signal. With weak outside signal−115 dBm RSRP), it can typically cover 1,500 square feet of indoor space.

Powerful Signal has over a decade of experience designing and installing cellular amplification systems. Please call us at 435-634-6800 or contact us online, and we’ll be happy to calculate the coverage area this system will provide in your building and answer any other questions about this amplifier.
