The Drive Reach is the newest-generation cell phone signal booster for vehicles from Wilson Electronics. With an industry-leading 28.3 to 29.5 dBm of uplink power, the Drive Reach can send data to cell towers twice as distant as older boosters. Stay connected underway on lakes and rivers and in coastal waters. Experience faster 5G/4G data and fewer dropped calls, undelivered texts, and missed email messages.
When having a usable cell phone signal in your boat isn’t a luxury, it’s a critical necessity.
The Poynting OMNI-493 is the right choice if you need a shorter antenna or if you want the best reception for high-frequency cellular bands that have faster data rates. It has 6 dBi of gain on low-band cellular frequencies (617–960 MHz) and 9 dBi of gain on higher-band frequencies (1710–2700 MHz). Higher frequencies have a shorter range but offer faster data rates, so the Poynting OMNI-493 is the better option if faster data is more important for you than receiving signal at longer distances from cell towers.
The Poynting antenna attaches to a standard 1″ × 14 thread marine mount (with a ¾″ hole beneath the mount to run the coax cable) or to poles or posts 1½″ to 2″ in diameter. It’s also shorter than the RFI antenna, which may make it the better choice if you have minimum-clearance concerns for your vessel.
The Poynting OMNI-493 comes with your choice of 10′, 20′, 30′, 50′ or 75′ of low-loss TS-400 coax cable.
The RFI CDQ7199 is the right choice if you want the best reception for low-frequency cellular bands that have a longer range. It has 8.5 dBi of gain on low-band cellular frequencies (617–960 MHz) and 4.5 to 5.5 dBi of gain on higher-band frequencies (1710–2700 MHz). Lower frequencies offer slower data rates but have a longer range, so the RFI CDQ7199 is the better option if receiving signal at longer distances from cell towers is more important for you than having faster data speeds.
The RFI antenna attaches to a standard 1″ × 14 thread marine mount. It includes RFI’s Q‑Fit® threaded quick-release connector for fast, easy takedown and setup for low minimum-clearance passages—the antenna attaches and detaches from its base in seconds.
The RFI CDQ7199 includes 16.4′ (5 m) of attached RG58 coax cable. You may extend that with a 10′, 20′, 30′, or 50′ run of low-loss TS-400 coax cable.
You can install the Great Loop Marine weBoost Drive Reach yourself. It does not require professional help, although you can hire a marine electronics specialist to do the job for you.

If you want to use your weBoost Drive Reach with an AC power source, we offer an optional 120V AC power supply.
We also offer an optional 12V DC hardwire power supply with an inline 3-amp fuse. The hardwire kit connects directly to your vessel’s DC power system, freeing up a 12V power socket and allowing for a less-cluttered installation.
To get the AC power supply, DC hardwire power supply, or both, use the dropdown option at the top of this page before clicking Add to Cart.
The weBoost app measures signal performance, pinpoints the nearest cell tower, and shows your cell signal strength before and after installation. It includes step-by-step setup instructions and how-to videos for weBoost products.
This is a complete kit, with everything you need to start getting the best signal in your vessel:
The Poynting OMNI-493 antenna kit includes:
