  • Provides FirstNet band 14 cellular coverage in buildings for emergency communications used by police agencies, fire departments, and other first responders.
  • Provides up to 100,000 square feet of coverage for offices, hospitals, campuses, warehouses, and other commercial and public facilities.
  • This is a high-power booster with up to 80 dB of gain and 27 dBm of uplink and downlink power. Even with weak outside signal, it can provide band 14 coverage for a large indoor area. (Learn more.)
  • Color LCD touch screen displays the status and gain and allows you adjust the amplifier’s settings.
  • Wall-mounted with antenna ports on the top, with a compact size (9″ ᴡ × 10″ ʜ × 2″ ᴅ) that easily fits in your I.T. closet or other convenient, out-of-the-way room.
  • Outside directional antenna points in the direction of the FirstNet cell tower. (Learn more).
  • Inside EDGE dome antenna mounts to drop ceilings, ceiling panels, and hard-deck ceilings. (Learn more.)
  • This is an industrial booster. Carrier approval must be obtained to operate the WilsonPro 140i. (Learn more.)

Police officers, firefighters, emergency medical services, and other public safety personnel count on the FirstNet cellular network to stay connected during emergencies. The WilsonPro 140i cell signal booster cell phone signal booster improves connectivity for FirstNet band 14 to help first responders effectively communicate on scene.

The Pro 140i is wall-mounted and can cover up to 100,000 square feet with sufficient outside signal strength.

Who is the WilsonPro 140i for?

  • Police departments, sheriffs, and other law enforcement agency headquarters and command centers.
  • Fire and emergency medical services stations.
  • Commercial and government buildings with legacy public safety communications systems that need to transition to the FirstNet communications network.
  • Buildings in remote locations with weak FirstNet cell service (new communities, rural areas, etc.)
  • Buildings made with materials that block outside cell signal (metal, plaster, concrete, UV-coated windows, etc.).

The WilsonPro 140i requires carrier approval

Under the framework developed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the WilsonPro 140i is classified as an industrial signal boosterexternal link icon. You will need approval from AT&T before installing the WilsonPro 140i and commissioning it on the FirstNet network.

Using the WilsonPro 140i in homes and small businesses

The WilsonPro 140i is a high-gain, high-powered booster designed for large indoor commercial, industrial, and public spaces. Even in large buildings, using the Pro 140i increases the chances that the signal patterns from the inside and outside antennas will overlap each other and cause signal oscillation or booster shutdown.

To mitigate that potential issue, Powerful Signal’s WilsonPro 140i kit includes two attenuators. Attenuators reduce the signal the booster sends and receives from one of its antennas, reducing or eliminating signal oscillation. If you experience signal oscillation, one of our technical support specialists may recommend that you attenuate the signal the Pro 140i booster sends to and from the inside dome antenna by 10 dB, 20 dB, or 30 dB.

Optional plenum air coax cable upgrade

The WilsonPro 140i commercial cell signal booster system includes 400-type coax cable that connects the amplifier to the inside broadcast antenna. If your building requires fire-rated cable in plenum spacesexternal link icon, please ask us about upgrading to ½-inch plenum air coax. Plenum cable fully meets state and federal building codes.

Plenum cable also has nearly half the signal loss per foot of cable compared to 400-type coax cable, providing stronger signal from your WilsonPro 140i and a wider indoor coverage area.

(Plenum air cable is available at additional cost. Call Powerful Signal at 435-634-6800 for details.)

400-type coax cable and plenum air coax cable terminated with N-male connectors This system uses 400 coax (left), but you can upgrade to fire-rated plenum air coax cable (right) for building-code compliance and better performance.

How the WilsonPro 140i works

The WilsonPro 140i receives available outside FirstNet cell signal, amplifies it, and rebroadcasts it inside your building. This allows first responders—police, fire, and rescue—to stay connected in areas of your building where FirstNet service is poor or where your building’s construction materials interfere with signals from local FirstNet cell towers.

How much area will the WilsonPro 140i cover?

This system comes with one dome antenna that broadcasts improved FirstNet cellular signal in a spherical pattern. The radius of that circle depends on many factors, including:

  • Outside cell signal strength received by the donor antenna.
  • Inside building materials. (Cellular frequencies pass through wood framing and drywall more easily than through steel and concrete.)

In general, the stronger the outside cell signal, the greater the interior broadcast distance. Multiple indoor antennas may be needed to get maximum coverage inside your building.

Powerful Signal has has been designing and installing cellular amplification systems since 2007. Please call us at 435-634-6800 or contact us online, and we’ll be happy to calculate the coverage area this system will provide in your building and answer any other questions about this amplifier.
