Features of the Marine Peplink MAX BR1 Pro 5G with 4×4 MIMO Omni Antenna
- The Peplink MAX BR1 Pro 5G converts 4G/LTE and 5G cellular signal to WiFi, creating a large WiFi “hotspot” on your boat, yacht, houseboat, or ship that can be used by laptops, tablets, smart TVs, and other WiFi-enabled devices.
- The router’s two Ethernet LAN ports and one Ethernet WAN port support gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mbps). LAN port 1 has Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability.
- The dual SIM card slot supports one or two cellular data plans and requires a SIM card. The router also supports WiFi 6, WiFi WAN, and Ethernet WAN. Onboard software allows you to prioritize which data source the router will prefer and which one(s) it will fail over to.
- The Poynting OMNI-414 cellular marine 4×4 MIMO antenna sends signal to and from cell towers with up to 3.5 dBi of gain and superior signal strength and quality. (Learn more.) The OMNI-414 has four 6.6′ HDF195 coax cables in two pairs; you can add optional 5′, 10′, 15′, 20′, or 30′ 195 coax extension cables if you need longer runs from the antenna to the router.*
- The Poynting PUCK-12 2×2 MIMO WiFi antenna broadcasts simultaneous dual-band 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz WiFi with up to 7.5 dBi of gain. (Learn more.) It has two 6.6′ HDF195 coax cables that connect to the router.
- The router includes a GPS port and receiver antenna with a 15′ cable. Onboard software stores up to seven days of GPS location data.
- GPIO power port with 120V AC/DC adapter.
- The router’s compact metal enclosure (4.95″ × 4.2″ × 1.4″) is easy to install in tight spaces.
- This solution operates on a wider range of cellular bands than consumer cell signal boosters. (See below.)
- Certified by Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. Works with all major U.S. cellular carriers and networks.
- Includes Peplink’s one-year warranty plus a one-year subscription to Peplink PrimeCare+ service.
- With a PrimeCare+ add-on package, you can extend your router’s warranty, continue to use Peplink’s InControl² cloud-based management and SpeedFusion services, and get 24/7 email support. (Learn more.)

SIM card required (important—please read)
To use the Peplink MAX BR1 Pro 5G as a cellular–WiFi router, you must have an activated nano-SIM card with a data plan. You can obtain a SIM card from your cellular carrier (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.) and add it as an additional line on your existing plan. You can also purchase SIM cards from many retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy; the data plan will either have a recurring monthly payment or will be a prepaid “pay-as-you-go” plan.
Who is the Peplink MAX BR1 Pro 5G for?
- Vessels that operate on inland waterways or along coasts where cell service is fair to good.
- Owners and operators who need WiFi signal for computers, tablets, smartphones, smart TVs, and other WiFi-enabled devices.
- Mid-size vessels, such as cabin cruisers, motor yachts, trawlers, tugs, pilot boats, and fire boats.
- Houseboats.
- Boats that need better signal in multiple compartments, such as the wheelhouse, saloon, or cabin.
- Government agencies (fish and wildlife services, harbor patrols, police and sheriff’s departments, etc.).
- Users of T-Mobile band 71 as their internet service.
The Peplink MAX BR1 Pro 5G can also be customized for use in larger vessels like motor yachts, large tugs, naval support ships, research ships, and feeder vessels.
For locations with weak cellular signal, a cell signal booster may be a better option in your boat or ship. If you have any questions about which option is right for you, please feel free to contact Powerful Signal—we’ll be happy to help you!
The Marine Peplink MAX BR1 Pro 5G works on boats and ships that are underway, at anchor, or dockside.
