Features of the Marine Peplink MAX BR1 Pro 5G with 4×4 MIMO Omni Antenna

  • The Peplink MAX BR1 Pro 5G converts 4G/LTE and 5G cellular signal to WiFi, creating a large WiFi “hotspot” on your boat, yacht, houseboat, or ship that can be used by laptops, tablets, smart TVs, and other WiFi-enabled devices.
  • The router’s two Ethernet LAN ports and one Ethernet WAN port support gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mbps). LAN port 1 has Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability.
  • The dual SIM card slot supports one or two cellular data plans and requires a SIM card. The router also supports WiFi 6external link icon, WiFi WAN, and Ethernet WAN. Onboard software allows you to prioritize which data source the router will prefer and which one(s) it will fail over to.
  • The Poynting OMNI-414 cellular marine 4×4 MIMO antenna sends signal to and from cell towers with up to 3.5 dBi of gain and superior signal strength and quality. (Learn more.) The OMNI-414 has four 6.6′ HDF195 coax cables in two pairs; you can add optional 5′, 10′, 15′, 20′, or 30′ 195 coax extension cables if you need longer runs from the antenna to the router.*
  • The Poynting PUCK-12 2×2 MIMO WiFi antenna broadcasts simultaneous dual-band 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz WiFi with up to 7.5 dBi of gain. (Learn more.) It has two 6.6′ HDF195 coax cables that connect to the router.

To use the Peplink MAX BR1 Pro 5G as a cellular–WiFi router, you must have an activated nano-SIM card with a data plan. You can obtain a SIM card from your cellular carrier (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.) and add it as an additional line on your existing plan. You can also purchase SIM cards from many retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy; the data plan will either have a recurring monthly payment or will be a prepaid “pay-as-you-go” plan.

Who is the Peplink MAX BR1 Pro 5G for?

  • Vessels that operate on inland waterways or along coasts where cell service is fair to good.

The Peplink SpeedFusion Connect app for smartphones lets you monitor and configure your router, switch between WANs, prioritize traffic by application, activate features like SpeedFusion Connect and hot failover, view reports, and share access with others to manage your router.

Using the SpeedFusion Connect app to check your router’s states and make changes is often faster and easier than logging into the router’s web-based dashboard or using InControl².
