  • Excellent for long and tall buildings with large distances between the outside donor antenna and the area where signal coverage is needed.
  • Available for add-to-cart purchase with self-installation or as a custom-designed system for your building or other large enclosed area.
  • Amplifier units may be wall-mounted or rack-mounted.
  • Improves 5G and 4G/LTE voice and data on all common cellular frequencies. (Learn more about 5G compatibility.)
  • Carrier agnostic: Works with all major cellular carriers and networks in the United States and Canada.

The Top Signal Fiber DAS 4400 cellular distributed antenna system provides cellular reception in large buildings of all types, at industrial and utility sites, and for many other applications.

The fiber DAS system’s Master Unit (MU) receives signal from one or two outside donor antennas. The MU amplifies the signal it receives and sends it via a fiber-optic cable to a Remote Unit (RU). The optical fiber trunkline can be as long as 3,300 feet (1 km) without any significant loss of signal. The RU again amplifies the signal it receives and distributes it to cell phones and cellular devices via inside dome antennas. Each RU has four antenna ports—one RU can support one to sixteen antennas, depending on outside signal strength.

The Top Signal Fiber DAS 4400 provides strong cellular voice and faster data speeds for multi-story buildings and large facilities that other commercial cellular amplifiers are unable to handle and at a fraction of the cost of a carrier-installed active DAS system.

* This add-to-cart system includes 100, 250, 500, or 1,000 feet of fiber-optic trunkline cable. Please contact us for inquiries about longer or custom runs of optical fiber.
** 100,000 square feet per RU is possible with strong outside cell signal. Please contact us for more information.

Who is the Top Signal Fiber DAS 4400 for?

  • Multi-floor office buildings.
  • Warehouses and distribution centers.
  • Below-ground parking garages, basement facilities, and bunkers.
  • Hotels and convention centers.
  • Healthcare and other medical facilities.
  • Power plants, dams, and mines.

Optional plenum air coax cable upgrade

The Top Signal Fiber DAS 4400 system includes TS‑400 coax cable to connect the Remote Unit to the inside antennas. If your building requires fire-rated cableexternal link icon in plenum spaces, you may upgrade to half‑inch plenum air coax by choosing the product option at the top of this page. Plenum cable fully meets state and federal building codes.

Half-inch cable also has nearly half the signal loss per foot of cable compared to TS‑400 coax cable, delivering stronger signal from the Top Signal amplifier and a larger indoor coverage area for phones and other cellular devices.

(Half-inch plenum cable is available at additional cost. Please contact Powerful Signal for more information about plenum-rated components.)

400-type coax cable and plenum air coax cable terminated with N-male connectors This system includes TS‑400 coax (left), but you can upgrade to fire-rated plenum air coax cable (right) for building-code compliance and better performance.

How the Top Signal Fiber DAS 4400 works

The Top Signal Fiber DAS 4400 Master Unit (MU) receives available outside cell signal, amplifies it, and transmits it via fiber-optic cable to one or more Remote Units (RUs). Each RU amplifies the signal again and rebroadcasts it inside your building through one to four antennas.

This active DAS system allows you to stay connected in areas where cell service is poor, where your building’s construction materials interfere with signals from local cell towers, or in other situations where cellular service is not available inside your facility.

Works with all major cellular carriers

The Top Signal Fiber DAS 4400 works with all major wireless carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, DISH Wireless, UScellular, GCI Alaska, and most others.

It operates on common cellular frequencies.

  • 700 MHz (SMH) bands 12, 13, 17.
  • 850 MHz (Cellular 850) band 5.
  • 1700/2100 MHz (AWS) band 4.
  • 1900 MHz (PCS) bands 2, 25.

How much area will the Top Signal Fiber DAS 4400 cover?

Each Remote Unit includes four dome antennas that broadcast improved cellular signal in a spherical pattern. The radius of that sphere depends on many factors, including:

  • Outside cell signal strength received by the donor antenna(s).
  • Inside building materials. (Cellular frequencies pass through wood framing and drywall more easily than through steel and concrete.)
  • Cellular frequencies used by the carrier. (Lower-frequency LTE and 800 MHz signals travel farther than higher-frequency AWS and PCS signals.)
  • Type of coax cable used to connect the antennas. (Half-inch coax cable has nearly half the loss and twice the coverage area of TS‑400 coax.)

Under optimal conditions, with no interior obstructions, you can expect the following approximate coverage areas, based on outside signal strength and the number of Remote Units (RUs) and installed antennas:
