Product Description

Features of the Nextivity CEL-FI QUATRA EVO one- or two-carrier system

  • The CEL-FI QUATRA EVO is an enterprise Active DAS Hybridexternal link icon system for commercial properties, apartments and condos, healthcare facilities, government buildings, and large custom homes that need improved indoor cellular coverage.
  • Provides up to 100 dB max gain for your choice of one or two cellular carriers, with support for Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile 5G and 4G/LTE networks.
  • The QUATRA EVO’s Network Unit (NU) and Coverage Unit (CU) connect to each other with dedicated runs of dual Cat 6/Cat 5e Ethernet cables. Ethernet cabling fits easily into your existing I.T. infrastructure, is easier to run than coax cables, and can connect the NU to CUs with runs as long as 328 feet (100 meters). With CEL-FI QUATRA Fiber Range Extenders (QFRE), that distance can be doubled to 656 feet (200 meter); with a QUATRA EVO Fiber Hub, the distance is 1.24 miles (2 kilometers).
  • The QUATRA EVO system is highly scalable: Each NU natively supports up to 6 CUs, and each CU has ports for 4 broadcast antennas for a total potential coverage of 24 inside antennas. With a QUATRA EVO fiber hub, one NU can support up to 12 CUs and 48 antennas.
  • Administer your QUATRA EVO system with the online CEL-FI WAVE Portal with carrier-grade security. Monitor and manage devices, get performance metrics, and receive alerts if there are any interruptions in cellular service.
  • This system is FCC certified and carrier preapproved. Unlike most DAS systems, the CEL-FI QUATRA EVO does not require any licensing to install or operate in your building.
  • Five-star installation and lifetime support from Powerful Signal, the leader in improved in-building cellular signal.

The CEL-FI QUATRA EVO Active DAS Hybrid cell signal booster is a two-carrier solution that provides up to 100 dB of signal gain for each carrier network. The QUATRA EVO improves cellular reception inside offices, warehouses, industrial facilities, campuses, custom homes, and other buildings that have weak or no cell signal available indoors.

Unlike passive DAS systems that use thick coax cables, the CEL-FI QUATRA EVO is a digital system that uses Cat 6 or Cat 5e Ethernet cable between the Network Unit (NU) and one to six Coverage Units (CUs). The CUs use Power over Ethernet (PoE) from the NU; no AC outlet is needed at end points where the CUs are mounted.

Powerful Signal specializes in bringing strong cellular voice and data into large commercial, industrial, and government buildings and luxury homes. We can fix specific problem areas or provide cellular coverage throughout your entire building.

How the Nextivity CEL-FI QUATRA EVO works

CEL-FI QUATRA EVO network diagram

This diagram shows the most extensive layout possible for a CEL-FI QUATRA EVO system. A QUATRA EVO system in a small business or large home would involve fewer components. (Click to enlarge.)

  1. The QUATRA EVO receives outside cellular signal from one or two rooftop-mounted donor antennas or a cellular small cell interface. In single-operator mode, one donor antenna supports four bands of cellular frequency from the same carrier. In dual-operator mode, two donor antennas (or one omni antenna) support two bands from each carrier.
  2. The source signal is sent via coax cable to the Network Unit (NU), which amplifies the signal and sends the signal and power down-line via a run of dual Cat 6 or Cat 5e Ethernet cables.
  3. The run of Ethernet cables terminates at a Coverage Unit (CU) that amplifies the signal again.
  4. The amplified signal from the CU is sent via coax cable to one or more broadcast antennas (your choice of ceiling-mounted domes or wall-mounted panels).

The QUATRA EVO is highly scalable: One NU can support up to six CUs. Powerful Signal can easily install additional NUs and CUs in your building as your business grows.

A QUATRA EVO Network Unit can transmit amplified cell signal and Power over Ethernet (PoE) up to 325 feet (100 meters) to the Coverage Unit(s). That distance can be doubled to 650 feet (200 meters) with a pair of CEL-FI QUATRA Fiber Range Extenders (QFRE) connected by a fiber optic cable. Distances between the NU and CUs can be further extended to up to 1.24 miles (2 kilometers) With a QUATRA EVO fiber hub. These options make the CEL-FI QUATRA EVO an excellent solution for campuses and large, long, and tall buildings.

CEL-FI WAVE remote management platform

The CEL-FI WAVE Portalexternal link icon web-based platform allows installers, network operators, and authorized users to remotely monitor, manage, and control CEL-FI QUATRA EVO systems. The WAVE Portal offers carrier-grade security and is accessible from a desktop or smartphone web browser. With it, you can commission a new system, view real-time performance, set alarm and notification settings, update software, manage users, and more.

CEL-FI WAVE Portal access is included with the installation of a QUATRA EVO solution; there is no subscription or annual fee for this service.
