Product Description

Customize your Cel-Fi REDplus:1 cell signal booster system

Features of the Cel-Fi REDplus:1 system

  • Provides emergency communications coverage in buildings for first responders on AT&T’s FirstNet 700 MHz cellular network.
  • Also provides coverage for consumer cellular phones, with your choice of coverage for one of five major cellular networks.
  • Both boosters have an industry-leading 100 dB of gain—up to 30× the gain of most commercial cell signal amplifiers.
  • Includes your choice of one to four inside antennas for one or multiple zones of indoor coverage.
  • Boosters are NEMA 4 rated to resist water, dust, and dirt.
  • Provides up to 20,000 square feet of indoor coverage.
  • Unconditionally network safe: Will not interfere with WiFi, police or fire radios, or other wireless communications.
  • Boosters are housed in a commercial-grade, wall-mounted metal box (18″ × 18″ × 3″) for clean and easy installation.
  • Configure and monitor your boosters with the Cel‑Fi WAVE app for smartphones.

FirstNet is a high-speed, nationwide wireless broadband network being rolled out by AT&T for public safety communications. This new network has dedicated cellular frequencies for law enforcement, firefighters, ambulance, and other first responders and public safety agencies. The Cel-Fi GO RED in-building cell signal booster provides maximum gain for improved reception on the FirstNet network.

The Cel-Fi REDplus:1 system combines a Cel-Fi GO RED booster with one Cel-Fi GO G32 booster that amplifies one consumer cellular network of your choice. The REDplus:1 gives you the strongest gain for both FirstNet and traditional cellular networks in your police station, fire house, or other facility, even in areas where existing cellular signal is weak.

With strong outside signal (−95 dBm RSRP or greater), the Cel-Fi REDplus:1 can provide up to 20,000 square feet of indoor cellular coverage. Multiple indoor antennas can divide or distribute that coverage throughout your building.

Cel-Fi GO technology is fully automatic and does not require any adjustment. At power-up, each amplifier analyzes its assigned carrier network to determine signal strength and quality, then it selects the best cellular band for that carrier.

Possible multi-antenna setups

Please Note: These diagrams are only examples of possible antenna configurations. Additional coax cable may be required to achieve these setups in your building. Powerful Signal will be happy to help you determine the proper cabling and coverage for this system in your office environment.

Who is the Cel-Fi REDplus:1 for?

  • Police departments, sheriffs, and other law enforcement agency headquarters and command centers.
  • Fire and emergency medical services stations.
  • Commercial and government buildings with legacy public safety communications systems that need to transition to the FirstNet communications network.
  • Homes of police and fire chiefs and other key personnel who need improved FirstNet and personal cellular reception.
  • Buildings in remote locations with weak cell service (new communities, rural areas, etc.)
  • Buildings made with materials that block outside cell signal (metal, plaster, concrete, UV-coated windows, etc.).

Get more features with the Cel-Fi WAVE app

The Cel-Fi WAVE app for smartphones lets you check your Cel-Fi GO RED and GO G32 boosters’ status and change their settings:

  • Dashboard: An overview of the state of your Cel-Fi GO boosters, including the outside signal strength and quality and the boost strength.
  • Settings: Align your outside directional antenna, update your boosters’ software, and more.
  • Advanced: Check your antenna separation and get detailed technical information for troubleshooting.

Optional plenum air coax cable upgrade

The Cel-Fi REDplus:1 includes TS‑400 coax cable to connect the amplifiers to the inside antenna(s). If your building requires fire-rated cable in plenum spacesexternal link icon, please ask us about upgrading to ½-inch plenum air coax. Plenum cable fully meets state and federal building codes.

Plenum cable also has nearly half the signal loss per foot of cable compared to TS‑400 coax cable, delivering stronger signal from the Cel-Fi amplifiers to your phones and other cellular devices.

(Plenum air cable is available at additional cost. Call Powerful Signal at 435-634-6800 for details.)

TS-400 coax cable and plenum air coax cable terminated with N-male connectors This system uses TS‑400 coax (left), but you can upgrade to fire-rated plenum air coax cable (right) for building-code compliance and better performance.

The REDplus:1 works with the FirstNet network and one major cellular network

The Cel-Fi GO RED booster in the REDplus:1 works on AT&T’s FirstNet cellular networkexternal link icon and amplifies two bands of frequency (bands 12 and 14).

The REDplus:1 also includes a Cel-Fi GO G32 booster that works on one of five cellular networks. You may choose from any of the following carriers:

  • Verizon 5G/4G (bands 2, 4, 5, 13)
  • AT&T 5G/4G (bands 2, 4, 5, 12)
  • T-Mobile 5G/4G (bands 2, 4, 12)
  • UScellular 5G/4G (bands 2, 5, 12)
  • GCI Alaska 5G/4G (bands 2, 4, 12)

The GO G32 amplifier analyzes the qualify of its carrier’s signal and chooses the two highest-quality channels available.

How much area will the Cel-Fi REDplus:1 cover?

This system includes one to four dome antennas that each broadcast improved cellular signal in a shape similar to a donut or an inner tube. The radius of coverage depends on many factors, including:

  • Outside signal strength received by the donor antenna.
  • The number of antennas you select for your system.
  • Inside building materials. (Cellular frequencies pass through wood framing and drywall more easily than through steel and concrete.)
  • The cellular frequencies used by the carrier. (Lower-frequency SMH and CLR signals travel farther than higher-frequency AWS and PCS signals.)

In general, the stronger the outside cell signal, the greater the interior broadcast distance.

Powerful Signal has over a decade of experience designing and installing cellular amplification systems. Please call us at 435-634-6800 or contact us online, and we’ll be happy to calculate the coverage area this system will provide in your building and answer any other questions about this amplifier.
