Features of the half-inch coax cable prep tool

Combination preparation tool for half-inch coax cable, made by RFS Technologies. It works on both half-inch polyethylene foam cable (CELLFLEX®) and half-inch plenum air cable.
One pass trims the jacket, outer conductor, and dielectric to the exact dimensions the connector needs, so every termination comes out the same.
Cuts the dimensions used by the OMNI FIT™ and RAPID FIT™ connector families, including the Top Signal N-male connector for half-inch coax (TS452052).
Leaves a clean, burr-free cut and a smooth dielectric face, which is what keeps passive intermodulation down on a terminated run.
No other tools needed to operate it.
Body is fiberglass-reinforced polycarbonate; the tool weighs 0.44 lbs (0.2 kg).
The main blade is replaceable (RFS part TRIM-B30).

Who is the half-inch coax cable prep tool for?

Professional installers terminating bulk half-inch CELLFLEX® coax (TS360500) or bulk half-inch plenum air coax (TS350500) in the field.
Commercial installations where long cable runs make the lower loss of half-inch coax worth the extra labor of terminating it.

We sell preterminated half-inch foam PE and air dielectric coax, but if you need custom-length runs, this tool preps the unterminated coax.

You will also need the ICA/LCF 12 auto trimming tool (TS421502), along with a power drill, a box cutter, wire cutters, and two adjustable wrenches.

This demonstration from Powerful Signal covers preparing the cable end and attaching a CELLFLEX® connector. It also covers bend radius, which matters here: Half-inch coax is semi-rigid. Its bends must be no smaller than 10 inches, and the outer conductor must not be pinched, kinked, or twisted.
