Does my carrier need to approve my cell signal booster system?

If your cell signal booster is classified by the FCC as a consumer device, you do not need pre-approval from your cellular carrier to use it on their network. (You are required, however, to register your booster with your carrier.)

If your cell signal booster is classified as a industrial device, you do need explicit preapproval from your carrier to operate it.
