Product Description

Features of the SOLiD BARS™ multi-carrier system

  • An advanced solution for improving cellular signal in small to mid-sized buildings, with coverage scaling from a few thousand to several hundred thousand square feet.
  • Uses a single, dedicated run of Cat6A Ethernet cable with PoE between the head-end (or hub) and each remote unit, fitting easily into your existing I.T. infrastructure.
  • Improves 5G and 4G/LTE voice quality and data speed. (Learn more about 5G compatibility.)
  • Supports up to three frequency bands for each major carrier, providing comprehensive multi-carrier coverage from a single system.
  • Provides coverage for Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile simultaneously.
  • Highly scalable: a single head-end unit (HE) supports up to 8 remote units (RUs)—or up to 40 RUs when expanded with up to four optional hubs—letting one system cover anything from a small office to a multi-floor campus.
  • Auto commissioning and an integrated ICS reduce setup errors and on-site visits. Most installations are commissioned in minutes, with cellular service available immediately after deployment.
  • Monitor your cellular coverage with SOLiD’s cloud-based Equipment Management System (EMS) and its user-friendly web interface. Remotely monitor and manage devices, view performance metrics, and receive alerts for any interruptions in cellular service.
  • Certified by the FCC as a Part 20 consumer signal booster and preapproved by all major carriers. Unlike a traditional active DAS, the SOLiD BARS system does not require carrier participation, fiber backhaul, or licensing to install or operate in your building.
  • Industry-leading installation and lifetime support from Powerful Signal, the leader in improved in-building cellular signal.

The SOLiD BARS™ off-air active DAS system is a multi-carrier solution that delivers carrier-grade cellular coverage over standard structured cabling. Designed specifically for the “Middleprise”—buildings that need reliable in-building cellular service but can’t justify the cost or complexity of a full-spectrum DAS—BARS improves cellular reception inside offices, hospitals, schools, hotels, retail stores, multi-dwelling units (MDUs), warehouses, and light industrial facilities that have weak or no cell signal.

How the SOLiD BARS™ system works

  1. The SOLiD BARS head-end unit (HE) receives outside cellular signal from rooftop-mounted donor antennas pulling “off-air” signal from nearby cell sites—no fiber backhaul or carrier connection required.
  2. The head-end amplifies and conditions the signal for up to three bands per carrier, then sends both signal and power downline over a single run of Cat6A Ethernet cable (PoE) to each remote unit (RU)—or, in larger systems, to one or more hubs that fan out to additional RUs.
  3. Compact, aesthetically pleasing remote units mounted throughout the building convert the signal back to amplified RF and broadcast it to mobile devices.

A single SOLiD BARS head-end natively supports up to 8 remote units, ideal for buildings of roughly 20,000–80,000 square feet. For larger venues, the system scales by adding up to four hubs to a single head-end—each hub powers another 8 RUs—for a total of up to 40 remote units per head-end. This makes SOLiD BARS an excellent solution for offices, schools, hospitals, hotels, multi-floor MDUs, and other Middleprise buildings.

The SOLiD BARS platform is highly scalable: as your coverage needs grow, additional remote units, hubs, or head-ends can be added without replacing core components or disrupting existing service. Powerful Signal can extend coverage into new floors, new wings, or adjacent buildings on your campus as your business grows.
