How the RFI quick‑release whip antenna works

  • Receives outside signal from a cell phone tower and directs it to a cell phone signal booster.
  • For use with boats, ships, and other marine vessels.
  • Works with cell signal boosters with FME‑male connectors; easily adapts to SMA, SMB, or N connectors.

Do you need an adapter?

This antenna has 16.4 feet of RG58 coax cable terminated with an FME-female connector.

If your cell signal booster has FME-male connectors (like the SureCall Fusion2Go XR and Fusion2Go 3.0 do), you do not need to adapt this antenna; it will connect to your booster natively.

You will need to add an optional adapter (above) if you intend to use this antenna with any of the following boosters:

Choose the adapter add-on option at the top of this page before clicking Add to Cart.

antenna interference..

The general rule is to separate antennas by a minimum of one wavelength apart from each another. For cellular antennas, that means about 18 inches of separation. GMRS requires around 26 inches of separation with other antennas. If your Ham radio is using lower frequencies than GMRS, you'll need more separation. The calculation is (924 ÷ frequency in MHz) × 12 = wavelength in inches = minimum separation.

What is a safe distance to install a cell phone signal booster antenna from VHF, GPS, SSB, and other antennas?

Vertical separation between antennas always provides better isolation than horizontal separation. If vertical separation is not possible, here are the suggested horizontal distances between various types of marine antennas, as recommended on page 31 of the issue of Sea Magazine:…
