Features of the Poynting SWIRL-4-CPE MIMO antenna
- 15.0″ diameter × 8.8″ height (38.2 × 22.4 cm) omnidirectional external antenna and cellular router base.
- The cast aluminum base houses a 5G POE router (purchased separately). From there, an Ethernet cable is run inside to a WiFi router. The integration of the router into the base minimizes coaxial cable runs, significantly enhancing performance by reducing signal loss. (Learn more.)
- Designed for marine, bus, RV/trailer, and fixed wireless access applications. Mounts on or above the roof of a vessel, RV, motorhome, trailer, home, or office.
- Four cross-polarized cellular antennas cover 5G and 4G/LTE frequency bands from 617 to 6000 MHz.
- Two dual-band cross-polarized WiFi antennas support 2.4 GHz (5 dBi max gain) and 5 GHz–7.2 GHz (8.5 dBi max gain) for superior wireless coverage.
- Seven 25.6″ (2.13′ / 65 cm) RTK031 coax cables connect to cellular (×4 SMA-male), WiFi (×2 RP-SMA-male), and GPS (×1 SMA-male) ports on a 4×4 cellular–WiFi router, modem, or hotspot.
- Covers a wide range of 5G and 4G/LTE cellular frequencies with exceptional gain:
- 617–960 MHz: 4 dBi vertical; 2 dBi horizontal.
- 1710–2700 MHz: 6 dBi vertical; 4 dBi horizontal.
- 3400–4200 MHz: 5.5 dBi vertical; 2 dBi horizontal.
- 5000–6000 MHz: 4 dBi vertical; 4 dBi horizontal.
- The UV-stable marine ASA radome and ZL102 cast-aluminum, powder-coated base are IP 69K-rated
for protection against water immersion and dust, ASTM B117
-tested for resistance to corrosion due to salt spray, IK 08-rated
impact-resistant, and rated for wind conditions up to 115 mph (186 kph / 100 kts.).

What’s a MIMO antenna?
A MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) antenna sends and receives signal through two or more simultaneous data streams, providing better signal strength and quality than SISO (single input, single output) antennas.
This 4×4 MIMO antenna, with an enclosed 5G router, may be the right solution for you if:
- You use a cellular router for internet service in a boat, ship, bus, RV, trailer, home, or small office.
- Your router has four SMA cellular ports and two SMA WiFi ports.
- Outdoor signal is fair or moderate.
- You need faster download speeds for streaming videos and downloading files.
- You need improved signal for cellular frequencies that aren’t amplified by cell signal boosters (like band 71 and 5G bands between 2300 and 6000 MHz).

Installation
The Poynting SWIRL-4-CPE MIMO antenna includes a foam adhesive mount and four screws that attach it to a flat, drillable surface. The RTK301 coax cables exit from the bottom-center of the antenna and feed into the base where the router is installed.
The antenna’s surface mounting holes have dimensions of 233 × 144.5 mm, making the SWIRL compatible with the industry standard brackets for mast and radar tower mounting.
