Features of the NETGEAR Nighthawk M6 mobile hotspot

The Nighthawk M6 converts 5G and 4G cellular signal to WiFi signal, creating a wireless hotspot network that can be used by laptops, smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, and other WiFi-enabled devices. Its unlocked SIM card slot supports your choice of cellular data plan. (SIM card required.)
The Nighthawk M6 supports 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz WiFi 6 technology, offering faster data transfer and connectivity, support for up to 32 connected devices, and up to 2,000 square feet of coverage area.*
The compact form factor—4.14″ × 4.14″ × 0.85″ (10.5 × 10.5 × 2.15 cm)—allows you take your Nighthawk M6 mobile hotspot anywhere: home, business, hotel, car, RV/trailer, boat, hiking/camping, meetings/events, etc.
You can run your hotspot on AC or battery power. Its removable, rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to 9 hours of continuous usage.
The simple, intuitive 2.4″ (6.1 cm) LCD touchscreen lets you easily see the WiFi name, password, and cellular signal strength, and easily monitor data usage and manage device and network settings.
The Nighthawk M6’s internal 4×4 MIMO cellular antenna provides excellent reception and fast data throughput. It also features two TS-9 connectors for attaching an external 2×2 MIMO antenna (sold separately) in areas where available cellular signal is weak.
A 1 Gbps Ethernet port connects to computers, smart TVs, and other wired devices. (Ethernet cable not included.)
A USB type C connector powers the hotspot, recharges its battery, and can provide data to other devices via USB-C tethering.
The Nighthawk M6 features WiFi offloading and Ethernet offloading, both with automatic failover. Use an external wireless or wired data source and the hotspot will automatically switch to cellular data if either becomes unavailable.
The Nighthawk M6 includes GPS location services to support GPS-enabled apps on connected devices.

SIM card required (important—please read)

To use the NETGEAR Nighthawk M6 as a cellular router, you must have an activated nano-SIM card with a data plan. You can obtain a SIM card from your cellular carrier (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.) and add it to your existing data plan as an additional line. You can also purchase SIM cards from many retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy; the data plan will either have a recurring monthly payment or will be a prepaid “pay-as-you-go” plan.

A nano-SIM card is about the size of a fingernail.

Using the NETGEAR Mobile app to check your Nighthawk M6’s state and make changes is often faster and more convenient than using the hotspot’s touchscreen controls.
