FCC Notice for Part 90 Cell Signal Boosters

Effective March 1, 2014, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requires all Part 90 Class B wideband industrial cell signal boosters to bear the following label:

Per 47 CFR 90.219:

  • To operate a Part 90 booster, operators “must obtain the express consent of the licensee(s) of the frequencies for which the device or system is intended to amplify. The consent must be maintained in a recordable format that can be presented to an FCC representative or other relevant licensee investigating interference.” (47 CFR 90.219b.1.i)
  • Prior to operation, Class B boosters must be registered with the FCC so they can be included in their online database of operators. (§90.219.d.5) The database can be searched by anyone to determine if a booster is causing interference with other devices.

Licensing and registration is the responsibility of the booster owner/operator; Powerful Signal cannot license boosters on behalf of its customers.
