The Wilson Electronics weBoost 472205 Connect 3G Cell Phone Booster Kit conforms to all the new FCC regulations established for 2014.  The weBoost 472205 Connect 3G Kit boosts and improves 3G cell signals for both voice and data.  The cell signal booster works with all the major U.S. cellular carriers including Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Sprint.  This is a complete kit that includes a 3G dual-band booster, outside antenna to communicate with the cell tower, interior antenna to broadcast a boosted signal, and white RG6 coax cable to connect the antennas to the cell signal booster.

The weBoost Connect 3G is an excellent choice to boost cell signals in one or two rooms of a home or small office.  Broadcast distance inside the building varies on the outside signal strength and the frequency the cellular carrier uses.  If you have any questions on how much area the weBoost Connect 3G will cover, contact Powerful Signal for details.

The kit does require some minor installation.  An antenna needs to be placed on the roof of the building.  This antenna is connected to the cell signal booster with a length of RG6 coax supplied in the kit.  The interior broadcast antenna can usually be placed in the attic of the home or building facing downwards through the sheet rock or dropped ceiling.  The interior antenna also has the ability to be mounted on a wall.  RG6 coax cable is also supplied to connect the interior antenna to the cell signal booster.

This kit comes with the weBoost Electronics directional antenna. The directional antenna should be mounted on the side of the building closest to the cell tower and the antenna should be pointing in the direction of the cell tower for best performance.
NOTE: J-Pipe Mount shown in picture is not included and is sold separately.

The panel antenna included with the kit also has directional characteristics.  It can be set on the ceiling sheet rock in the attic pointing downward into the room below or it can be mounted on a wall pointing across the room.  The panel antenna should not be pointed in the direction of the outside antenna.

The weBoost Connect 3G requires some installation.  Below is an overview of the installation process that should be followed.  Overall the installation is not very complicated.  Probably the most difficult part is mounting the antenna on the roof of the building.  Remember, it is important not to power on the cell signal booster until everything is connected together.
Soft Install (recommended)
A soft install is recommended first to double check that the system will work in your environment.  Basically a soft install is testing the equipment without physically mounting the hardware or drilling any holes.  When hardware is mounted it can be scratched and may not be suitable for return if the equipment needs to be returned.  Also when doing a soft install you find that antenna placement or equipment performance works better in different places.  This give you a chance to experiment with the antennas and determine the best place they should be installed.  Get a friend to help hold antennas in place while you turn the system on.  During a soft install hold the antenna in place and run the coax down the hall or through windows.  We are testing antenna location and signal broadcast.
Physical Installation
Outside Directional Antenna: The location of the exterior antenna is key to the system performance.  It should be located towards the top of the roof to help eliminate anything that may block signal to it.  The rooftop antenna should also be on the side of the house that is closest to your cell tower if possible.  It may also be handy to position the outside antenna near an attic vent.  Coax cable will need to be run from the outside antenna into the house and an attic vent is an easy way to do this.  A hole may need to be drilled if no vents are available. The exterior directional antenna must be pointing away from the house and towards the cell tower for best performance.  Directional antennas collect and broadcast signal in the direction they are pointing.
Cell Signal Booster:  The weBoost Connect 3G cell signal booster needs to be in a weatherproof area.  It also requires a wall plug power outlet for power.  In most cases the cell signal booster can be placed in a dry attic space if power is available.  Putting the booster in the attic eliminates drilling a hole for the coax.  If putting the booster in the attic is not an option, then a closet or garage may work well.  Coax will need to be run from the exterior antenna to the cell signal booster.  Coax will also need to be run from the cell signal booster to the interior panel antenna.
Inside Antenna:  The first thing to remember about the inside panel antenna is that it should not be pointed in the direction of the exterior directional antenna.  This may cause oscillation which will in turn cause the cell signal booster to turn off.  The inside panel antenna can be mounted in a couple of different ways.
Attic Mount: If your cell signal booster is in the attic then the easiest place for the panel antenna is also in the attic.  This eliminates drilling a hole in your ceiling.  Simply place the panel antenna on the ceiling sheet rock or dropped ceiling tile pointing downwards into the room below.  The signal will penetrate the sheet rock.  This also gives you the ability to easily move the antenna around.
Closet Mount:  You can also bring the coax cable down from the attic into a closet and mount the panel antenna in the closet on a wall.  This keeps everything out of site.  Point the panel in the direction you need cell signal remembering not to point  the panel antenna in the direction of the exterior directional antenna.
Wall Mount:  In some case, because of architecture, lack of attic, or other reasons, you may need to mount the panel antenna on an interior wall.  At this point, pick a location that allow signal to be broadcast from the panel into the area needed.  Coax can be hidden behind molding, furniture or other items.
Activate the System:   When everything is in place and all connections are checked, power on the weBoost Connect 3G cell signal booster.  The booster is self adjusting, no need to physically adjust the booster.
