Product Description
The Motorola Bag Phone has been around for years. It was the thing to have if you needed to stay connected in remote areas. The original Motorola Bag Phone was analog, but analog has been replaced by digital. Motorola produced the newer digital version of the M800 to work with the current Verizon digital networks. The M800 Digital Bag Phone ended production a couple of years ago. Powerful Signal has located a supply of these highly sought after units and will offer them until supplies are gone. Don't wait...there is a limited supply.
This is rugged, commercial grade communications equipment used by construction companies, oil and gas companies, remote field service personnel, etc.
NOTE: This is a limited supply, special order item that cannot be returned for credit or refund.

Self Contained Unit
The M800 is a completely self contained unit. It has three different power source options: 1) wall plug, 2) vehicle 12v, 3) on-board battery. Take the M800 away from civilization and the battery will go for hours. In your vehicle, the system has a nice 12v power cord for the lighter plug. In your cabin, hotel, RV, boat, etc, there is a wall plug power supply. The on-board battery charges while the M800 is plugged into 12v or the wall. All accessories easily fit into the accessory bag which attaches to the bottom of the M800 phone bag. The accessory bag (with all accessories) weighs about 4.5 pounds. if you want to travel light, the accessory bag can be detached from the phone bag. The phone bag by itself weighs about 6.5 pounds.

The Middle-of-Nowhere Test
Powerful Signal took the M800 out through southern Utah and northern Arizona towards the Grand Canyon near a junction call Jacobs Lake. We tested the M800 against a standard DroidX Verizon cell phone. The M800 did very well. We ran the M800 on battery power for about 3 hours, and talked about 1.5 hours. It out performed the standard Verizon DroidX phone by a long shot. There were several places that the DroidX did not even register a signal, but the M800 connected and made a call without a problem. Don't get me wrong, there were places that nothing worked, neither the DroidX or the M800.
During most of our driving we used an external magnet mount antenna (optional purchase) on the roof of the vehicle attched to the antenna port on the M800 for better signal reception.
|
We tested the M800 two different ways, without the in-line booster option and with the in-line booster option (optional purchase), both with the external antenna.(see options below). We went through terrible coverage areas. The M800 did much better than the DroidX, only dropping calls 3 times with the M800. The DroidX could hardly stay connected.
With the in-line booster installed and the external mag-mount antenna, we retraced our test area again where we had only dropped 3 times...this time we never dropped a call in the test area which was about a 60 mile distance through southwest Utah and northwest Arizona. We were impressed!!
