Product Description

The Cellular Specialties CSI-BDA61080-CP Dual-Band (800/1900MHz) Commercial System can be configured with 1, 2, 3 or 4 interior antennas depending upon the area that needs to be covered.  The diagram to the right shows how a 4 antenna system might look in an office or warehouse scenario.  Indoor antennas need to be separated minimum 50-75' depending upon obstructions between them.
Powerful Signal provides design assistance for your system.  Please contact us if you have any questions.

Cellular Specialties CSI-BDA61080 multi-antenna system from Powerful Signal is a complete system that includes amplifier components in wall mount box,  low loss 400 coax, exterior antenna and interior antenna(s).  Powerful Signal has configured this system to improve in-building cell signal strength for all 800/1900Mhz GSM/CDMA/TDMA carriers such as Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Alltel, US-Cellular, etc. (all except Nextel/iDEN).  This system can be installed by building maintenance or IT personnel.  All components quickly screw togthether.  Antennas need to be mounted.
All amplification equipment is FCC Certified and can be wall mounted.  Powerful Signal provides support from product selection all the way through product installation.
Please Note:  If you do not have experience with this type of equipment, please contact Powerful Signal; and we will assist you with your selection and design the system that best fits your environment.
Major components with this CSI-BDA61080-CP System:
  1. Wall mount Amplification Unit
  2. Inside Antenna(s) (One or more ceiling mount dome antennas)
  3. Splitter and 10' jumper if multiple inside antennas ordered
  4. Outside Antenna (Omni or directional roof-top antenna)
  5. Coax from amplifier to outside antenna
  6. Coax from amplifier to inside antenna(s)
  7. J-Pipe Universal Antenna Mount
Outside Antenna  Andrew Cell-Max-O-25 dome antenna
Wall Mount Panel 400 Low Loss Coax
Complete System with amplifier unit, antennas, and coax
CSI-BDA61080-CP 80dB dual band amplifier
CSI-BDA61080 CP Amplifier Unit
Outside antenna needs to be mounted on the roof of your building.  Outside antennas are designed to be mounted on a pole (max 2" diameter) using U-bolts.  Coax needs to be run from the outside antenna to the amplifier.  The amplifier can easily be mounted on a wall in an equipment, utility or storage room.  The inside antenna needs to be mounted on a ceiling (dome).  Wall mount panel antennas are available in place of ceiling domes.  Please contact Powerful Signal if you require wall mount panel antennas.  Coax needs to be run from the amplifier unit to one or more interior antennas.  Up to 4 interior antennas can be configured with this system.  Standard wall plug power is required near the amplifier.  Antennas do not require power.

Ordering Your System

Please read all the information supplied before ordering.  There are several options that need to be selected when ordering your Cellular Specialties system.  Contact Powerful Signal if you have any questions.
Product Options
  1. Outside Antenna - Omni or Directional.
  2. Outside Coax - This is the length of coax needed to go from the outside antenna to the Amplifier Unit inside the building.
  3. Inside Antennas - This is the number of inside antennas needed to cover your area.  Note: This selection changes the system price.
  4. Inside Coax - This is the coax length from the Amplifier Unit area to each antenna.
Contact Powerful Signal if you have any questions or need any additonal information.

Coverage Area

Inside coverage distance varies depending upon outside signal strength, carrier frequency (800 or 1900MHz), coax length and interior obstacles.  The CSI-BDA61080-CP bilding system has been designed to provide approximately 25,000 to 50,000 sf of coverage in low signal areas (1 bar outside) and much larger areas, up to 100,000+ sf in strong signal areas (4-5 bars outside).
Note: Please consult with Powerful Signal to determine expected coverage area for your situation.

Antenna Separation

Exterior and interior antennas need to have the proper separation.  This is usually about 60+ feet depending upon several variables.
  • Obstacles (metal, concrete, etc.) between antennas
  • Difference in height between antennas.  Vertical separation is very helpful.
Contact Powerful Signal for more information regarding antenna separation.  We will help you design your system properly.

Outside Antennas

A choice of two different exterior antennas are offered:
  • 5dB gain Omni fiberglass
  • 9dB gain directional
The omni antenna collects signal from 360 degrees, all directions.  This antenna is generally recommended, and it works well in most situations.
The directional be pointed in the direction of the cell tower(s).  This antenna works best when there is good line-of-sight to the cell tower or the terrain is mainly flat or low rolling hills.  Not recommended in low spots or dense forested areas.
Both antennas work with 800/1900MHz carriers.  Mounting hardware is included, and installation is required.
This system includes a J-Pipe Universal Antenna mount which makes it easier to mount exterior antennas on a wall or rooftop.

Inside Antennas

The default antenna(s) for the Series 900 system is ceiling mount domes.  Wall mount panels may be requested.  Contact Powerful Signal if you need panel antennas in place of dome antennas.
  • Ceiling mount dome
  • Wall mount panel
The dome is recommended in most situations when an attic or dropped ceiling is available.  A panel is recommended in homes with vaulted ceilings and situations where antennas cannot be mounted on the ceiling.

This system provides two lengths of 400 low loss coax.  One length is used from the amplifier to the interior antenna.  The other length is used from the amplifier to the exterior antenna.  Select lengths that best fit your installation environment.  Remember each foot of coax is signal loss, so don't just get the longest length.  Figure what you need, and select the length that best fits.
Note:  Never coil excess coax.  It will cause problems.
